Al segle XII, el terme del Codony pertanyia al monestir cistercenc
de Santes Creus. Per això, la granja es coneix també amb el nom de
Granja de Santes Creus. Aquesta es va constituir amb el suport del
comte de Barcelona, Ramon Berenguer IV, i d'algun noble tarragoní
com Guillem de Claramunt. Dissortadament, en l'actualitat es troba
completament en runes i s'ha convertit en un lloc d'esbargiment per
fer-hi costellades. Amb tot, encara s'hi poden contemplar els arcs
ogivals o de mig punt d'origen medieval juntament amb restes de
murs, trulls i sitges. Al costat hi ha la capella, restaurada, del
segle XVIII.

In the twelfth century, the term of Codony belonged to the
Cistercian monastery of Santes Creus. Therefore, the farm is also
known under the name granja de Santes Creus. This was established
with the support of the Count of Barcelona, Ramon Berenguer IV, and
Tarragona as a noble Guillem de Claramunt. Unfortunately, today is
completely in ruins and has become a place of recreation for doing
barbecues. However, we still can see the pointed arches of half
point or along with remains of medieval walls, mills and silos.
