Our local youth group, the MRC (Making Right Choices) want to welcome you to our cities 1st annual CITO event. The City of Texarkana, AR is excited to have us perform the finishing touches around a city park. Registration will begin at 9:00a.m. with a short geocaching orientation from 9:30-10:00 a.m. We will then begin clean up from 10:00 -12:00 noon. A lunch of sloppy joes, chips and a drink and then we will wrap it up at 2:00 pm. We look forward to seeing you
The MRC (Making Right Choices) Youth group is excited to invite you to help with the Texarkana 1st Annual CITO event. The City of Texarkana, AR has worked hard this year cleaning up one of our oldest parks in the city. They have drained the pond to clean it, tore down the very dated dock to build a new one and now the water is back and it just needs the finishing touches. The park itself is pretty clean, but the streets around it need some cosmetic attention. We will be picking up trash in and around the block of the park and the city has asked us to do curb and gutter clean ups. The city will provide us flat head shovels for our work and we will have bar-b-q for lunch. If you want to spend the night so you can attend the meet and great the night before, we are working out arrangements with one of our hotels in Texarkana, AR to provide you a great deal. We have volunteers from local companies to help serve our food and work with our youth providing water to you while you so graciously give of your time. This has trully turned into a community effort and hope you want to join us to make this a success. We will have goodie bags to the 1st 50 people who say they will attend, and food will guaranteed to the first 100 people who say they will attend. We also will have our museum systems on hand because we just happen to have the geocaching exhibit in Texarkana. They will provide a short orientation to the the new geocachers and will have some awesome brochures about the history of some of Texarkana (and we just happen to have caches placed in these areas). We also have a really nice driving tour of our downtown area and our Chamber of Commerce has provided us with cd's of that tour and I know we have several caches hidden in those areas as well. Please feel free to bring gloves, grabbers and your lawn chair, and anything else you think you might need. We will provide lunch, water and trash bags. As an added bonus, our city will place nets on the basketball goals at the park when we are finished as a gift to the local residents and a thank you to the volunteers for helping clean up this park. Also, we would love for you to bring an item of swag so we can decorate and place a special CITO cache close to our clean up as a visual reminder of efforts in our first CITO.
