Geocache Description:

World Wide Flash Mob

Welcome to another installment of the World Wide Flash Mob (WWFM). The WWFM is a short (15 minute) event happening (relatively) simultaneously around the globe! Use the clock on your GPSr to synchronize your times for the event.

All you need to bring is BUBBLES, a card with your geocaching name on it (e.g. index card or recipe card), GPSr (if you have one) and a sense of fun! This event is fun for geocachers, families and non-geocachers too. Bring them all along!

-~- SCHEDULE of EVENTS-~-

... 9:59am
Make sure you have parked your vehicle and are ready to go.
Checklist:
- Bubble Maker
- Bubble Liquid
- GPSr
- Card for 'will attend'

There are two posted parking coordinates, one in Edworthy Park and the other on the opposite side of the river. If you arrive early, try to mingle in small groups instead of one large group. Attempt to 'act natural'. It is a huge park so make use of it.

10:00am
The Mrs. GeoWyrm and some volunteers will enter the bridge from each side carrying a flag and a bucket. That is the sign the flashmob is starting. At this time you are to take out whatever implements and such you may have to create bubbles along the bridge. The goal is to get the entire area covered in bubbles flying through the air. The more bubbles the better!

10:01am
Get on the bridge, mingle and make BUBBLES. Make sure you drop your card in the bucket (there will be one on either side of the bridge) and pick up a handout and a ticket for the prize draw. Make use of the whole bridge until it is time to gather for the photo.

10:10am
Announcement will be made to organize for a group photo. Try to cluster into the center of the bridge as much as possible.

10:14am
One minute warning...

10:15am
It is over! Time to disband. There are geocaches all over the area, time to go find some!

About Edworthy Park:

Edworthy Park was once a part of the Cochrane Ranch and was eventually purchased by Thomas Edworthy in 1883. Along side his neighbour John Lawrey, Edworthy established a profitable garden market that supplied fresh fruit and vegetables to railway crews and homesteaders. In later years, after discovering sandstone on his property, he operated sandstone quarries for the construction of many buildings in Calgary. The land was purchased by the City in 1962 for the development of a park. [City of Calgary website]

There are public restrooms near the bridge but they tend to be seasonal so we cannot guarantee they will be open in time for the event.

Dogs are welcome but keep in mind, we will be an enthusiastic group in a small space with bubbles floating all around. Make sure your dog enjoys that type of environment.

See you there!
