Are you new
to geocaching? Are you an experienced veteran?
Somewhere in between? We hope to see all of you at Billy
Dunlop Park in Clarksville TN. The park is located on Needmore Road
between 101st Parkway and Tiny Town Road.
We
will host an informal presentation, held in the pavilion.
Presentation will start at 8:00 am and continue till 10:00
am. This will be an opportunity for new geocachers
to learn from experienced geocachers. We will cover the following
topics and any you can think of.
- What is
geocaching?
- GPS
Technology in general
- Maps -
Which Type?
- Types of
Geocaches
- How to get
started
- Before you
leave - Tips
- Etiquette
- Camo Techniques
- Trackables
- Wrap-up Q&A
After the
presentation, we will break up into groups combining cachers of
varying experiences to find geocaches hidden in the
park.
We
encourage experienced geocachers to come and help guide the small
group hunts. If you’ve been to an event cache before,
you know what fun it can be! You can also ask individuals
questions regarding paperless caching, including the use of GSAK
and Iphone Apps.
Bring your
GPSr if you have one, but if you’re new a GPSr isn’t
required! We will have some drinks but you can bring a
picnic to enjoy during or after the event, it is a beautiful park
after all.
Please RSVP
your plans to attend the event by posting a "will
attend" log on this page
