St John the Baptist, Wonersh
St John's Church has been around since Saxon times. This building has parts that are of Norman construction. Much of the building looks as it did in the 15th century. There is a detailed booklet available in the church which is worth looking round - indeed I made this a multi-cache as the cache itself is not on church land, yet I wanted folk to have to visit.
Find the tomb of Alice Virgo. Died AB, CD, EFGH (AB is month, January would be 01; CD is the day 01..31; EFGH is the year) aged IJ years. The cache is at
N 51 (E)(D-G).(I)(J)(B), W 0 (A+E+1)(J/2).(F)(H)(C-G).
Note that the cache itself is a trick box, so I've upped the difficulty from 1.5 to 2.5. No force is required to open it - and don't you dare break it. You may not record the find on the web page until you have signed the log sheet. If you can't find the log sheet - even with the cache in hand - then sorry, too bad. There are instructions on the log sheet on how to replace the sheet in the cache. If being frustrated by this might worry you then don't do this one.
