Geocache Description:

*** THIS CACHE IS A CHALLENGE CACHE. NO LOGGING OF THIS CACHE WITHOUT FULFILLING THE REQUIREMENTS. ***

I have been keeping track of challenges around Ohio in this list: Ohio Challenges. One that looked really interesting and had some people who attempted it was Ohio City Name Challenge. It was archived, but I still thought the idea was cool, so I modified it and recreated it!

In order to log this cache as a find, you must first find and log a cache that was hidden in an Ohio city whose name begins with each of the 26 letters of the alphabet, A through Z. The only problem is, there is no Ohio city that begins with Q... thus the name of this cache! This cache is located in the um... city?... of Quickerington, Ohio, (just trust me, it is) so when you log this as a find, it will be your Q city.

Only the first character of the city name counts, examples are as follows:

Ashland - Counts as letter A

Avon Lake - Counts as letter A, not L or anything else.

East Liverpool - Counts as letter E. Cardinal directions count.

Documentation Requirements:
To document your progress and your completion of the challenge, you must either create a shared bookmark list that includes each of the qualifying caches, along with this cache, or include the Project-GC output from below. If you do a bookmark list, you must show the Cache Name and the city name where you found the cache. Make the Bookmark list Public, so that it appears on this cache page. Once this is done, you can feel free to log this cache! If you are in the area and want to sign the physical log, you are welcome to do so, but please do not log this cache online until you complete the requirements. FOUND LOGS WITHOUT THE REQUIRED LIST WILL BE DELETED.

Please remember to filter your finds down to finds in Ohio only. If you don't create a bookmark list, use the output from project-gc below. Be sure to include the same information requested for a bookmark list, and also include the GC code for the cache.

Rules:

1. You may not count a cache owned by you.

2. All previous cache finds count.

3. ONLY Ohio caches can be included in your list.

4. In order to be a cache that counts for a specific city, the cache location must be within a reasonable distance of the corporation limit of the city. (I will not be a hard nose, but don't try to tell me you found one in Zanesville when it is clearly in Heath.) For example: Albany is a village near Athens. People from Albany talking to outsiders often say they live in Athens. I would accept an Albany find as an Athens find. Hopefully that helps.

Here is a checker that should help. There are some known issues with the checker, so if you feel like you SHOULD qualify for a city, just indicate it in your found it log:

PGC Checker

The cache itself is in a small park in P(Qu)ickerington. There are many muggles nearby and the houses are near the cache, so please use stealth, and NO NIGHT CACHING.

This should create quite an interesting and fun little challenge. All 26 letters of the alphabet are used by city names except for Q, which is covered by THIS cache. I'm hoping that this challenge will give you another reason to expand your normal caching range to find the needed caches! Have fun!
