Kaplnka panny Márie / The Saint Mary Chapel

Na dnešnej Šafárikovej ulici sa nachádza Kaplnka sv. Márie. Postavená bola okolo roku 1700 z príspevkov veriacich.
Podla povesti v roku 1709 slzil tunajší obraz Márie, ktorý sa preto stal v blízkom i dalekom okolí známy a uctievaný. V krásnej barokovo zdobenej mreži svätyne je vykovaný rok 1780 a nižšie sa nachádza monogram Márie – písmeno M.
Okolo Kaplnky panny Márie bol v minulosti starý cintorín, ktorý bol ale v roku 1866 z hygienických dôvodov zrušený.
Okolie kaplnky bolo neskôr - zaciatkom minulého storocia postupne zastavané, ale tieto obytné domy boli pocas II. svetovej vojny bombardovaním z velkej casti znicené.

We can find the Saint Mary chapel, built around 1700, on the Šafárikova street.
According to the legend, the picture of Saint Mary in this chapel was raining tears in 1709. After this, the chapel was worshiped near and far. The year 1780 is engraved in the beautiful Baroque grillage of the window. Below the year, we can also find the letter M, the initial of Saint Mary.
The surrounding of the chapel used to be an old cemetery, which was abolished in 1866.
Some houses were built around the chapel at the beginning of last century, but they were destroyed by bombing during the WWII.
