Leg o'Mutton Local Nature Reserve – Nature Trail South End

Leg o'Mutton (or Lonsdale) Reservoir is a very special place, supporting an amazing diversity of wildlife and providing a tranquil haven for the local community to enjoy.

This importance for wildlife and people was recognised by the Local Authority in 1990 when it was designated a Local Nature Reserve (LNR). It is one of an expanding network of LNRs in Richmond Borough. Many of the birds, habitats, small mammals and insects found here are special at a national, London and local level and need to have actions plans written for them, to ensure their long term survival. The Richmond Biodiversity Partnership is working towards producing this 'Biodiversity Action Plan' For Richmond's wealth of wildlife.

Beware the many muggles. Please be discrete retrieving and ensure it is well hidden when replacing. The cache has been placed with the permission of the Borough Council.

NOTE: Please keep off the banks and ensure you do not disturb any nesting sites or birds
