Be a part of geocaching history!

WWFM – World Wide Flash Mobs – Thousands of geocachers at dozens of coordinated events all around the globe, gathering at the same time.

Sonny and Sandy of the PodCacher podcast came up with the WWFM idea after attending a mega-event. It was meant to be a fun “opposite” of a mega-event. These caching events are intended to bring together geocachers and introduce others to the hobby.

WWFM History:
Flash Mob I – May 2007 – almost 200 San Diego, CA geocachers; 20 world-wide events
WWFM II – Nov 2007 – 4400 attendees at 83 events in 9 countries
WWFM III – May 2008 – almost 8000 attendees at 163 events in 15 countries
WWFM IV – Nov 2008 – 7400 people at 154 events in 20 countries
WWFM V – May 2009 – over 7000 people at 154 events in 20 countries
WWFM VI – Nov 2009 – almost 7000 people at 152 events in 21 countries
WWFM VII – May 2010 – almost 6000 people at 139 events in 19 countries

NEXT SCHEDULED: WWFM VIII Saturday June 4, 2011 – 12:00 p.m. CDT



First, decide if you want to attend as a Pirate or a Ninja. Do NOT reveal your choice to anyone. Simply arrive and proceed to the staging area for your group. Waypoints provided below.

Schedule of events: (all times will be kept via the clocks on the GPS so that we're all in sync)

11:59 am: - Each group assemble at their respective staging waypoints
12:00 pm: - Pirates and Ninjas collide in an epic battle at ground zero
12:05 pm: - Event host will place a container at GZ for participants to drop their logs into
12:10 pm: - Group photo taken in front of Giboney Cave
12:13 pm: - Drawing for FTF
12:14 pm: - Awards for Best Pirate and Best Ninja
12:15 pm: - Event ends. Quickly leave the area and having fun caching the rest of the day
