FroggyBearReviewer: Od ownera sme, žiaľ, nedostali sme žiadnu odozvu na žiadosti o údržbu a obnovu kešky. Preto tento listing teraz archivujem. V mene všetkých jej nálezcov - ďakujem ownerovi za zážitky, ktoré nám priniesla.


Ak po tvojej keške zostali v teréne nejaké zvyšky, prosím o ich odstránenie. Súčasťou hry Geocaching je aj zásada "Leave no trace" - nezanechať po sebe žiadne stopy, ktoré by mohli byť vnímané ako negatívny zásah do životného prostredia.

Oficialnou vstupnou branou do Vysokych Tatier je sice mesto Poprad, ale myslim, ze Tatransku Strbu mozeme nazvat aspon „branickou“. Ma tu totiz pociatocnu stanicu ozubnicova zeleznica, ktora vozi denne desiatky (v sezone stovky) turistov do sameho srdca Vysokych Tatier - na Strbske Pleso. Turisti tu prichadzaju okrem vlastnej dopravy najma vlakmi, pretoze Tatranska Strba je zaroven rychlikovou zastavkou. Pozor, nedajte sa zmiast – zeleznicna stanica v Tatranskej Strbe sa vola Strba, teda tak ako nedaleka obec :-)

It is said that Poprad is the official gateway into the High Tatras, but in my view, Tatranska Strba could be called "a little gateway" at least. The only cog railway in the High Tatras has its starting point here. It is carrying tens or hundreds of tourists to the very heart of the High Tatras - to Strbske Pleso. Tourists are arriving in Tatranska Strba by car or by trains, because it is also a stop for express trains. Don't get confused - the railway station in Tatranska Strba is called Strba (just like nearby village).

Osada Tatranska Strba vznikla v chotari a na uzemi obce Strba. Bezprostrednym podnetom pre jej vznik bola stavba Kosicko-bohuminskej zeleznice a stanice Hochwald v r. 1880, ktoru neskor premenovali na Strbu. Dnesnu budovu zeleznicnej stanice postavili v 30-tych rokoch. Do roku 1969 turistov zo Strby a Tatranskej Strby na Strbske Pleso vozili autobusy. V r. 1969 pri prilezitosti bliziacich sa MS v lyzovani postavila svajciarska firma novu ozubnicovu zeleznicu. Tatranska Strba povodne vznikla ako dopravny uzol. Rozvoj turistickeho ruchu si vsak vyziadal dalsiu vystavbu a rozvoj sluzieb. Od r. 1960 doslo k uzemnej reorganizacii a Tatranska Strba sa stala sucastou obce Strba (predtym bola sucastou mesta Vysoke Tatry). V zozname obci k 1. 7. 1960 sa prvykrat uvadza, ze obec Strba je vytvorena z dvoch casti, a to Strba a miestna cast Tatranska Strba. Tatranska Strba sa v pociatkoch rozvijala ako rekreacna osada. Neskor sa skvalitnila siet komunikacii, vratane prelozenia cesty E 18. Svoj najvacsi rozvoj zaznamenala az pocas MS v lyzovani v roku 1970. Vtedy bola obnovena zubacka, benzinova pumpa a bolo vybudovane sidlisko Lieskovec, autocamping. V sucasnosti je Tatranska Strba moderna cast obce s vybudovanou infrastrukturou a rozvijajucou sa vystavbou. V tesnej blizkosti Tatranskej Strby sa nachadza chatova lokalita Lieskovec - Palenica.

The settlement of Tatranska Strba originated in the district of Strba village. The basic impulse for its foundation was the construction of Kosice-Bohumin railway and the railway station Hochwald in 1880, which was later renamed to Strba. The building as it looks today was built in 1930s. Until 1969 there were buses operating which were taking tourists from Strba and Tatranska Strba to Strbske Pleso. In 1969 before the World Championship in Nordic Skiing Events was held in Strbske Pleso, a swiss company constructed new cog railway. Tatranska Strba was originally a traffic intersection. The expansion of tourism resulted into another infrastructure and services development. In 1960 there was a territorial reorganization and Tatranska Strba became a part of Strba village (till then it was a part of the Vysoke Tatry city). In a register of villages as at July 1, 1960 it was mentioned that Strba consisted of two parts - Strba and local part Tatranska Strba. Tatranska Strba was first a recreation zone. Later on the infrastructure improved inluding E18 route replacement. During the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 1970 the settlement experienced the biggest development. At that time the rack railway and petrol station were renewed and settlement unit Lieskovec and autocamping were built. Nowadays Tatranska Strba is a modern settlement with developed infrastructure and increasing home-building. There is a cottage zone named Lieskovec - Palenica close to Tatranska Strba.

Vyuzite cas do odchodu vlaku alebo zubacky a odlovte si kesku ;-) Miesto je zamuklene niekedy viac, niekedy menej, takze mozno si budete musiet chvilku pockat.

Make the best of your time while waiting for train departure and get a cache ;-) The place is muggled sometimes more, sometimes less, so you may have to wait a minute.
