Geocache Description:

"Over Sea, Under Stone" was my favourite book as a child.

I didn't realise it at the time, but the author based the fictional place Trewissick on Mevagissey, a place, like the author (Susan Cooper), I also holidayed as a child.

However, since I have connections with Porthleven, I thought the next best thing was to honour the book with a cache in Cooper's Lane.

The story is essentially about 3 children doing the equivalent of a puzzle and multi-cache hybrid in Cornwall, except the race to FTF is against The Dark ... and The Dark is Rising!

This multi is very straightforward with car park, first stage and final just a few feet apart.

However, if you like puzzles and are good at hangman, you can probably guess the word required for stage 1 and go straight to final.

At Stage 1 you should find a 10 letter word related to the author.
Translate each letter of that word with A=1, Z=26.

Final Cache can be found at:

5th: [1st + 6th + 8th] [2nd - 5th].[1st][8th - 5th][5th - 10th]
6th: [3rd] [2nd].[10th/2][4th][9th + 10th - 1st]

The cache has been placed near the beautiful Penrose Estate (visit link) with the kind permission of the National Trust.
