Welcome to the Angmering Village Ramble.
Angmering is a quiet little Sussex village. Despite gradual development over the years, the village still retains much of its rural charm. There are a lot of ancient historical sites in the area, that date back to Roman days, and some way back to the bronze age.
There are plenty of amenities available in the village including several decent pubs that serve good food. Also, around The Square there is a cafe, grocery store, fish and chip shop, and public conveniences also.
This trail takes you around the village and out to the surrounding areas. Most of it is on firm designated paths and is for the most part reasonably flat. Some small sections may get a little muddy in the winter, so come prepared.
The trail is not suitable for cycling. There are a few stiles, and on one section of the walk, it is prohibited.
There is one major road to cross, so please take care, especially if you have young ones. Use the footbridges where they are available.
Some caches are hidden alongside a major road, but the footpath is good and wide here. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DO THESE CACHES AS DRIVE-BYS!
The majority of the hides are in 60ml screw top specimin pots, (not used!) with a few boxes en route for any trackables. There is plenty of parking in the village, but I have marked some waypoints, where parking is possible. You can start the series pretty much anywhere you like. There is no bonus to worry about.
There is a high muggle factor in some places, so be careful.
Please replace caches as you would expect your own caches to be replaced.
Have fun and good luck!
