PANDECACHE #1 - PETRIANA - The Vatican Stadium
Facile cache vicino alle Mura Vaticane. Easy cache near Vatican Walls.

La zona - The zone

La via presso cui è nascosta la geocache si chiama Via Santa Maria Mediatrice. Sembrerebbe che non ci sia nulla di particolare, aldilà della vicinanza con le Mura Vaticane.
E invece, una volta trovata la cache, continuate lungo la strada oltrepassando il cancello. Dopo circa 100 metri, sulla destra, potete attraversare un altro cancello sopra cui campeggia la scritta Pontificio Oratorio San Pietro. Al suo interno vi sono vari impianti sportivi di proprietà della Chiesa Cattolica, tra cui spicca subito alla vista il campo da calcio intitolato al Cardinal Spellman.
Si tratta dello stadio ufficiale dello stato della Città del Vaticano: in esso si disputano il Campionato Vaticano di Calcio, la Coppa Vaticana, la Supercoppa Vaticana e la famosa Clericus Cup, una sorta di Champions League tra i seminari e le università pontificie.

Se siete fortunati, potrete andare sugli spalti del campo e godere di una meravigliosa vista della Cupola di San Pietro.

The road is called Via Santa Maria Mediatrice. It would seem nothing special is in the surrounding area, but is not so.
After having found the cache, continue walking along the street. After about 100 metres you'll find on the right the Pontificio Oratorio San Pietro. You can entry: you'll find a lot of sports facilities belonging to the Catholic Church.
The first thing you'll see is the Cardinal Spellmann Soccer Field, that is the "official stadium" of the Vatican City State. In this field the following championships are played: Vatican Soccer Championship, Vatican Soccer League, Vatican Soccer SuperLeague and the famous Clerical Cup, that is a sort of Champions League played by seminarians and members of the various Pontifical Universities.
If you are lucky, you can go on the stands of the soccer field and get a wonderful view of the St. Peter's Dome.
