Geocache Description:

Studanka

S podravem BEER TEAM

Keš je soucástí projektu "K pramenum".

Krtiny spring

Not far from the forest track to the summit of Rozepre hill, in the spruce grove, there is hidden an inconspicuous spring. It is our next invitation for a journey around wells and springs in the Drnovice surroundings. The track leading around the spring was used by people for regular pilgrimage to Krtiny village. So, the way is called Krtinská and that is from where the spring has its name.

Krtiny spring is another piece from the "workshop" of Miroslav Danek. The lover of nature, did not only take care of the springs and wells and maintain them, he also founded them. He was a good dowser, and so the search for sources was not a problem for him. When you were lucky to meet him on his forest walks, the meeting could not go without his short,
pertinent verses. Each of the wells and springs under his guarding is marked by his initials DM (Danek Miroslav). This spring has his initials in the lower right part of the main stone (at a glance it is more like D1).

Name Krtinská (Krtiny) on the main stone has not been finished yet, and search for the reason is still vain. We have come up with one hypothesis – when cutting the inscription into the stone, its right part was chipped off and, therefore, it remained as it is now. So, the cross would be in the middle of the stone and the ensuing letters “NSKÁ” would fit the original stone size (provided the existing proportions stay the same). To support this hypothesis, the right edge parts are much sharper than the left ones where the stone is nicely rounded

We hope you will enjoy the trip to this spring. Should you have any further information regarding this place, feel free to share it with us. We will gladly extend this listing. The cache is one from the series of wells and springs from the Drnovice surroundings. Do not forget to write down the number from the box. Sincerely BEER TEAM
