I have enjoyed the accolades, kind words, dirty looks and profanity laced tirades of those who have solved, found and gone crazy over this cache. It has been a while since it has been found and appears to have run it course. I am archiving this cache to place a new cache that will appeal to more than two dozen cachers.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all who have solved and found this cache. Also thanks goes out to those have solved it (often from a far) and never made to this fine park.

For those who tried and could not crack the code, I thank you for your efforts and time. Now that this one is gone, I will let the cat out of the bad. This was a Patterson Cipher. Google it. Its a cool cipher long thought to be unsolvable.

Thank you all. Look for Borst's Niagara County Challenge (GC5DEJ), coming soon to a theater near you!

Geocache Description:

Posted coordinates take you to a lamp post in the parking lot at Bonds Lake County Park. Other than its potential as a well lit location to park your car, the posted coordinates have no significance. To find this cache you will have to decode a cipher to learn the true coordinates as well as the combination to the cryptex.

What is a cryptex you ask? A cryptex is a portable vault used to hide a secret message. The word was invented by author Dan Brown for his novel The DaVinci Code. More info on cryptex can be found here. In this case, the cryptex contains the location of the final cache. The location of the cryptex and its combination can only be found by solving the below cipher.

The cache is in Bonds Lake County Park. Poison ivy and thorns are abundant here. Portions of the trails can be quite wet at some times of the year. As with all caches, be safe and know your limits. After you have found the cryptex, please re-lock it before re-hiding. Special thanks to KK2005 for finding the typo.

Additional tips: The encryption method is an obscure one that remained uncracked for a long time. Also, don't read into the whole Dan Brown/DaVinci thing. There is nothing in his book or the movie that will help you.
