Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
This two stage multi-cache is dedicated to the brother of a high
school classmate who has left this world for a better place.
Brother Mikey was a decorated Air Force fighter pilot and a kind,
loving brother to this classmate.
The posted coordinates will bring you to his gravesite in the Lower
York Cemetery. In keeping with Air Force tradition you will notice
a pile of nickels next to his grave. Feel free to add a nickel (if
you don't have one you might find one in the cache, the cache has
been seeded with two nickels, feel free to add more for the next
cacher). As you drop your nickel, the tradition is to say: "drop a
nickel and save a fighter pilot's backside today".
The final coordinates are determined by
1. Adding to north coordinates:
Brother Mikey's age at death minus month of birth minus month of
death minus 1.
2. Subtracting from west coordinates:
Brother Mikey's month of birth plus month of death plus 1.
For example: if age at death was 56, the month of birth was 5, and
month of death was 6, you would add .056-.005 - .006 - .001 = .044
to the north coordinates and you would subtract .005+.006 + .001 =
.012 from the west coordinates to determine the final
coordinates.
The final is camo pill bottle with a log sheet and a few nickels
for tossing on the gravesite. Bring your own pencil.
Please be respect of the surroundings for both stage 1 and stage 2
and limit any signs of geocaching. Note: stage 2 is outside the
cemetery.
