This cache is being placed as one in a series of five caches. Each cache will represent and be named for a destination in Alaska for an upcoming trip there. All five caches will also initially be placed with a hitch-hiker in them. The goal of these trackables will be to get to Alaska by 8/11. We'll see if any of them get that far that soon....
I have visited this trail system many times, but my favorite is when the vernal pools have little tree frogs bellowing. There can be thousands of them, and they make quite a racket. If you care to and it is spring, follow the sound of the croaking peepers to get in the vicinity of the cache. It's amazing!
Cache is about 100 feet off the trail. The main trail and the route to the cache should be pretty straightforward for most hikers and cachers, but do mind the children, as there are steep drops at the ridgeline, and the final 50 feet leading to GZ can be tough.
