W 1435 roku biskup plocki utworzyl w Drozdowie parafie pod wezwaniem sw. Jakuba Apostola i sw. Barbary.
Ziemie pod zabudowania koscielne, gospodarstwo proboszcza i cmentarz ofiarowal Stanislaw z Zakliczewa. Wybudowal tez kosciól drewniany, który niestety splonal w 1737 roku. Ten sam los spotkal druga swiatynie w 1818 roku i trzecia ufundowana przez Kazimierza Godlewskigo spalona w 1868 roku. Dopiero murowany kosciól wzniesiony, wedlug projektu Witolda Lanciego przez Franciszka Lutoslawskiego, poswiecony w 1878 roku, zachowal sie do naszych czasów. Jest to kosciól neoromanski z cegly, tynkowany, jednonawowy. Przy poludniowo - wschodnim narozu stoi wysoka dzwonnica na rzucie kwadratu. W glównym oltarzu kosciola znajduje sie obraz Wniebowziecia N.M.Panny, prawdopodobnie pedzla Wojciecha Gersona.
Kosciól po wojnie byl szereg razy odnawiany sumptem parafian. Zmieniano wystrój wnetrza, zwlaszcza prezbiterium, a takze polichromie. Parafianie ufundowali witraze o motywach kwiatowych wedlug projektu A. Pagowskiego, oraz pokryli dach blacha miedziana.
Na tylnej scianie nawy umieszczono tablice upamietniajace osoby zwiazane z Drozdowem, dwie z nich dotycza Lutoslawskich: Mariana i Józefa, rozstrzelanych w Moskwie w 1918 r., oraz tych, którzy zgineli w czasie II wojny swiatowej, tj. Henryka, zmarlego w lagrze na Kolymie i Bogdana - ofiary Oswiecimia; duza tablica poswiecona jest pamieci zolnierzy AK, placówki Drozdowo, poleglych za Wolna Polske w latach 1940-1945; jest tu równiez epitafium Romana Dmowskiego, który spedzil w Drozdowie ostatnie pól roku swego zycia i tu umarl. Plebanie, zbudowana w 1895 r. zapewne wedlug projektu W. Lanciego, w latach 1999-2000 poddano remontowi kapitalnemu.

In 1435 the Bishop of Plock created the St. James the Apostle and St. Barbara parish in Drozdowo. Stanislaw from Zakliczew gave the land for church buildings, the pastor‘s farm and cemetery. He built a wooden church, which unfortunately burned down in 1737. The same fate befell the second temple in 1818 and the third sponsored by the Casimir Godlewskigo burned in 1868. Only a stone church erected, by Witold Lutoslawski and designed by Francis Lanci, dedicated in 1878, has been preserved to our times. It is a neo-Romanesque church of brick, plastered, with one nave. In the south - eastern corner stands tall bell tower. In the main altar of the Church there is the image of Our Lady Assumption, probably painted by Wojciech Gerson.
After the war church was renewed several times by the parishioners. Interior was changed, especially the choir, as well as murals. Parishioners erected a stained glass designed by A. Pagowski, and covered the roof with copper.
On the rear wall of the nave commemorative plaques were placed, two of them concern Lutoslawski family: Marian and Joseph, shot in Moscow in 1918, and those who died during World War II, namely Henryk, who died in a labor camp in Kolyma and Bogdan - the victim of Auschwitz. A large plaque is dedicated to the memory of AK, soldiers from Drozdowo, who died for a Free Poland in the years 1940-1945, there is also the epitaph of Roman Dmowski, who spent in Drozdowo the last six months of his life and died here. The rectory, was built in 1895, probably designed by W. Lanci, in 1999-2000, was renovated.
