Geocache Description:

Following on from the successful inaugral Summer's End Camping Event in 2010, Summer's End 2011 is here.

Friday September 2nd - Sunday September 4th 2011

Camping & caching event to say goodbye to summer as Autumn fast approaches.

Friday 2nd September from midday ~ Sunday 4th September 2011.

This event is independent of any local or regional group and I hope that it will tempt cachers new and old who don't normally attend events to either come along and camp, or come along on the Saturday for a fun day, meeting fellow cachers and enjoy the spectacular Peak District countryside.
To be held at Furness Vale in the Peak District, the site is in a very picturesque part of Derbyshire with lots of great areas around for caching. Buxton is not too far away and you have Hayfield only 5 miles away where you can access Kinder Scout.

The campsite is only small, so you will need to book in advance.
The cost is a very reasonable £6.00 per person per night with under 14's at only £3.00 Hot showers are included in the price.

For caravan owners please contact the site first to request availability
but remember to mention that you will be with the geocaching group.

You will need to log your intent to attend and then book directly with the campsite and let me know that you have booked.
Contact details for the site are:~

Let her know that you are booking as part of the geocaching group.

There will be a chance for those not camping to come up and visit for the evening and have a bowl of chilli on the Saturday where you can meet fellow cachers, swap geocoins and generally have some fun. The chillifest will begin at 6.00pm and end when it ends.

Please be aware that other campers are around so we can't be too rowdy!!

The area is rich in already established caches but I do hope to get some local geocachers to plant some for the event.
