Thanks to the cleanup service crew in Etosha national park., a cache with a SUPERB view on the park and, at a safe location.
[update] After 8 years of quietly lying there it finally happened (again). Box bad. Paper wet :). Player
While we were in the safe area of "Olifantsbad" our piece and quiet was rudely disturbed by a truck with many, many, many hard working guys. Turns out they were cleaning the rest area. We offered the clean up crew a drink, had a talk, and hey: A new geocache inside this safe area was born! The foreman (David) has agreed to look after the geocache, since obviously I can not.
Edit: 2023-03-22; After 8 years of quietly lying there it finally happened (again). Box bad. Paper wet :). MY12 did everybody a favor and there is a fresh box!

Can someone have a look at the container? I have been told it is not really waterproof anymore....
edit: 2013-08-19: Please be warned: the area of the geocache is used instead of the provided bathrooms we are very sorry for the state the restarea seems to be in. It seems tourists are too lame to use the facilities and prefer to do "their business" in the area of the geocache. Again: we are sorry.

The cache was still in place and hidden well, but the container had been chewed by rodents, and so we replaced the container with a small green glass jar a little bit bigger than a film canister - we also replaced the log and so there is now plenty of space again for the next several geocachers to log their visits. The cache is now located half way down the fence from its original position, being as the whole top corner is now dirty with soiled toilet paper everywhere. The new co-ordinates are S19 14.382 E016 07.802 and we suggest that the clue is updated to "Post".

The cache was in good condition, exactly where it should have been. Some previous finder must have helped with maintenance, because all was good.
We had to dodge some noisy muggles who sat at a nearby picnic table. But they hardly noticed us there, for they were way too interested in the half empty bottle of champagne in front of them. We retrieved the cache, walked right past them, signed the log at our own table a little way off. Went back, replaced it, walked right past them again and still they did not notice us or our walkabouts manoeuvrings there at all.
By now they got rather rowdy and opened up a second bottle... By the time we left they were all polished and ready to fall over. The stupidity of the human species never cease to amaze me... Going all the way into the heart of one of Africa's best nature reserves, where one can enjoy the beauty of God's creation, and they opt to get schlossed...
Open up the gates and let the Lions in, I say...
