Geocache Description:

Nogeyama Park is one of the oldest park in Yokohama.

Team Kanagawa spring festival 2011
In 1887, Henry Spencer Palmer who constructed Japanese first water supply set up the filtration plant on this hill. The plant was destroyed by the Great Kanto Earthquake. Today, we can see the remains enclosed with dark green fence near the entrance of the park.

野毛山公園は、日本公園発祥の地である横浜市の中で、掃部山公園、横浜公園に次ぐ歴史ある公園です。

1887年、日本で初めての水道設備がヘンリー・スペンサー・パーマーによって横浜に建造された際に、野毛山公園に浄水場が建設されました。関東大震災で崩壊した遺構は、現在残念ながらフェンスの外からしか見ることができません。 また、この際に使用された日本最古の水道管は、GC2MN7Z Noge Street Performance/The Oldest Water Pipeで見ることができます。
