El geocaché “El Balcón de la Picossa” está ubicado en la cima de la Picossa (496 m de altura) desde donde se pueden contemplar unas magníficas vistas de la plana del Ebro, la Mola y la Sierra de Llavería, Sta Magdalena y las montañas dels Ports, la serralada de Cardó y al fondo de la central nuclear de Ascó los Pirineos.

Cerca del Hospital de Mora de Ebro hay que coger un camino asfaltado señalizado que permite llegar a la ermita de San Jeroni donde dejaremos el coche. Desde aquí hasta el geocaché hay que caminar 1 hora.
Iniciamos el recorrido siguiendo la pista que nos lleva a la ermita de Santa Magdalena. Al llegar a la Font del Tormo nos desviamos a la derecha por un sendero que cruzando un bosque de pinos y enebros nos lleva hacia la Cova de la Porca. Siguiendo las señalizaciones marcadas con pintura verde y blanca y subiendo al lado de la pared nos dirigimos hacia la cima tras una sucesión de pequeñas y fáciles trepadas, no exentas de emoción. Llegamos a un collado y seguimos hacia la izquierda trepando por una zona rocosa hasta llegar a la cresta. Caminando por encima de la cresta llegamos al vértice geodésico que identifica la cima de la Picossa.
Desde el vértice geodésico y siguiendo el sendero hay unos 25-30 metros hasta el sitio donde está el geocaché.
Disfrutad de las vistas
Justo debajo del vértice geodésico hay excavado un túnel que fue un nido de ametralladoras (vestigios de la terrible guerra civil).
El camino de vuelta se puede hacer por el mismo sitio o se puede seguir una ruta circular hacia Penya Roja y que nos llevará de vuelta a la ermita de San Jeroni en aproximadamente dos horas.
Recomendamos llevar un buen calzado que se agarre bien al terreno, bastones de montaña que nos facilitarán el camino y agua.
About Mora de Ebro´s Hospital need to take a paved road signposted leads to the hermitage of St. Jeroni where we leave the car. From here to the geocache you have to walk 1 hour.
We started our tour on the trail that leads to the hermitage of Santa Magdalena. Arriving at the Font del Tormo we turn right along a path across a forest of pine and juniper trees leads to the Cova de la Porca. Following the signs marked in green and white and up the side of the wall we went to the top after a succession of small and easy to climb, not without emotion. We came to a hill and continue to the left climbing a rocky area to reach the crest. Walking along the ridge above the trig point identifying the top of the Picossa.
From the trig point and following the trail there is about 25-30 meters to the site where the geocache.
Enjoy views
Just below the trig point there was a tunnel dug a nest of machine guns (vestiges of the terrible civil war.)
The return journey can be done in the same place or you can follow a circular route to Penya-Roja that take you back to the chapel of St. Jerome in about two hours.
Recommend wearing good shoes that grip well to the terrain, mountaineering sticks the way we provide and water.
