Geocache Description:

This Cache it is a joint venture between The Trekbuddies and the Bassetts.
It is our intention to follow on from the successful "Sids" cache placed recently by the Trekbuddies.
Sid is a crafty fellow and will get up to many adventures in the coming weeks.
We hope you enjoy them as they all require a little thought "out of the box".
None of them is a 35mm pot in a tree, they all require thinking about before you leave home.
Some might need equipment, eg a spanner or hammer, who knows, you just have to read the script CAREFULLY.
If you have serious problems (not hints) or wish to advise us that the cache requires maintenance then please contact either The Trekbuddies or one of the Bassetts.

Little did the Captain of the good ship "Cache Hunter” realise that when he buried his treasure his crew was infiltrated by a very famous double agent “Old Rails”. Old Rails was in the employ of Capt Bassett and had been active for many months. Fortunately, it was untrue that “Big Dave” was slain as he too was a double agent, although he did suffer a haircut in the hands of the Trekbuddies and like Soloman had lost most of his skills. Capt Birds Eye was convinced that he had hidden his treasure wisely but as history will tell things did not quite work out as he had planned.

The story says that Capt Bassett defeated the Cache Hunter and renamed her the “Dusky Dawn” in honour of big brave Dave. Capt Birds Eye was made to walk the plank into the shark ridden Oulton Broad Reach. off Southwold. Sadly there are rumors he was rescued by a lone lifeboat man.

Many years pass and we find that the infamous “Sid”, is now the boss of a high- tech criminal gang together with his close friends the Bassetts, offsprings of old Capt Bassett. The “Brains” of Sid’s company were known as the Treknologists, these were very special hoods with enhanced computer skills. The Trekies, as they were known, could solve any problem or code and further, were skilled at deception techniques such that their skills were known throughout all of Lowestoft.

Many years ago Capt Bassett found the treasure and kept it safely in the cellar of his local pub. As time passed Sid became the landlord and of course "inherited" the treasure. Sid was worried that the evil Capt Lifeboat might try to regain what he thought was rightfully his but Sid had other ideas. To ensure that it would never be found he tasked the Trekies to produce the “ultimate hiding place” impenetrable to all but Sid.

Sid called his hiding place “The pot of Gold” he liked the title, it suited his mood..

Now Sid had worked on high profile caches before but knew this had to be something special. Whilst supping his "Admiral's reserve" down at the Funny Farm he just couldn't help but hum a catchy little tune that he remembered from several years ago, when suddenly it came to him this would be perfect to base the new cache on. Once again Sid goes off to the workshop where another masterpiece was produced. He likes puzzles and this one really struck a chord with him. The cacher would have to find the first part of this multi, solve the puzzle, and then find the final location, only this time both parts would be difficult.

No matter what he did that darned theme just would not go away, he couldn't remember where it came from but some feint clues were in his mind. He remembered a "musical magician" from a land very very far away and a pretty girl called Judy.
She sang this tune so beautifully, it was one of his favourites. If only he could identify that tune he would be so happy he might even use it as a clue in his cache. Oh well he thought somebody might remember it and tell him.

Before he went home Sid thought all they have to do is to go to the above location, use the coding device, complete the final co-ords N52 24.??? E 1 4?.??? and the treasure would be theirs but only if they can beat the Trekies code.

Once the cache was placed Sid decided to reward himself with a night in with a bottle of wine and a choice of his favorite Woodforde's ales, not knowing at the time what this might lead to....!

There is no need to stray across fields , waypoints added for those without OS maps, the cache is about one mile from the start of the lane
