Geocache Description:

This cache intends to show you a beautiful area at the west end of Snæfellsnes peninsula. It brings you to three interesting stations, two of them to gather information in order to find the final cacheside.

If you park at N64 45.215 W023 53.708, total walking distance is approximately 2km getting there and back, so in total you can do it all in 30min, however, you should take your time, as it is a wonderful place with stunning view. Don't miss to pick up some delicious blueberries around the labyrinth's area in late summer! :-)

FIRST STAGE: At approximately N64° 45.207' W023° 53.904' you will find stones of different sizes to measure your strength. They were used by the sailers, who rowed out from Dritvík, to test their strength. You should try it as well. :-)

QUESTION FROM FIRST STAGE: Add all weights of all stones explained in first stage = A1 Substract the lightest stone from the heaviest = B1 (A1-231) / (B1-81) = X

SECOND STAGE: N64°45.145' W023° 54.027' brings you just a few meters further to Djúpalón beach. It is known for its round washed stones. Also, you will notice rosty remains of a ship wreck.

QUESTION FROM SECOND STAGE: Find the name of the ship, which stranded on the beach. Add all letters (A=1; B=2 …) = A2 Find the date, at which the ship stranded. The day = B2 (A2-B2) / 6 = Y

THIRD STAGE - LABYRINTH: At this stage you will find the actual labyrinth. It is believed to be build by fishermen or inhabitants of Dritvík in the 16th century to pass free time. Its coordinates are at N64° 45.089' W023° 54.814' If you place yourself in the middle of the labyrinth you will be able to spot the following four landmarks around you:
1) If you look north you will see a rock up a small hill
2) If you look north-east you will see the glacier Snæfellsjökull with its highest point roughly in the middle
3) Towards the south-east you will be able to spot the lighthouse on Malarrif
4) To the left of the lighthouse (approximately at the same distance as the lighthouse) you can see the rocks Lóndrangar Only one of those landmarks is necessary to find the final cache.

FINAL: With the answers from stages 1 and 2, solve (Y / X) and you will get a number between 1 and 4. Take the equivalent landmark from stage 3 and walk from the middle of the Labyrinth approximately 33m exactly towards this landmark. There you will find the final cache.
