Geocache Description:

this is a small camo just off footpath

These caches are placed starting in Eldene then moving on to Dorcan and the bottom half of Covingham and then back into Eldene. They are placed on tarmac paths and roads which can be busy depending on the time of day, so stealth is definitely required. Please bring a pen or a pencil with you thankyou. Please take care with children some of these roads can be very busy. We hope you enjoy this min-iseries.
The first known inhabitants in the Covingham area were the Romans in 43AD.

On the edge of the A419, it was an ideal place for a trading town. The area's kimeridge clay was a valuable natural resource for the Romans to make pots from.

In 1964 an excavation uncovered a square enclosure with pottery including New Forest Samian Ware Pot, coins and many other items that can be viewed in the Swindon Museum in Bath Road. It is thought a villa stood in the area.
Most of the houses in this area were built between the sixties and seventies and range from town houses through to detached homes and flats with plenty of grassy areas in between.

Well done to toolaroola for being the FTF
