It is not commonly known, but an advanced civilization inhabited
this area more than a thousand years ago. They were known as the
Rojeri-Sa, and little evidence remains of their greatness.
Their power was so vast, the area still bears their name a thousand
years after their disappearance: Rogers.
What we know of these people comes mostly from stories passed
down by native people, and from descriptions of Rojeri-Sa buildings
discovered in the forest by early European explorers. We do know
that at their peak they were far more advanced than any other
civilization on Earth. They understood the concepts of Longitude
and Latitude as we know them today! It is the sincere belief of a
very small community of archaeologists and anthropologists --
myself among them -- that the reason for their advanced technology
was their association with extraterrestrials.
Please do not think I am mad! We have suffered greatly for these
beliefs, and are treated with derision by our colleagues. But we
have proof! We have collected stories that tell us the Rojeri-Sa
had sophisticated electronic devices -- not dissimilar to our own
-- a thousand years or more before our civilization developed the
first semiconductors. Indeed I have in my possession bits of
technology found in the area that are strikingly similar to what we
enjoy today, but it is obvious that they are ancient!
The Rogers Codex was found in 1807 in the remains of a Rojeri-Sa
temple complex, in a vault located at the posted coordinates. There
is no point going there today because all traces that ancient place
have been obliterated. It is now private property, and the owners
have tired of scientists and treasure-seekers wandering their land.
