Quest for the Golden Orb Wherigo Cache

This cache has been archived.

GEO936: Unfortunately, we need to let this one go. Rolf is unable to fix it and maintenance is not possible right now. We did try to keep it open for as long as possible. If anyone really wants to do it, please contact me and I'll request it to be unarchived and will replace the cache accordingly.
Thanks for all the logs!
Silvia

Geocache Description:

The Quest for the Golden Orb is a Geocaching Wherigo game that can be played with most smart phones and an installed wherigo player. The cache is not hidden at the coordinates provided, but are the starting coordinates from where the adventure takes off. To play this Wherigo cartridge, download and install the Quest for the Golden Orb

You are Indiana Jones, back in 1939 where an adventure lurks around every corner. This Wherigo quest will be the most challenging relic you have ever found. You will face puzzles, booby traps, ambushes, general knowledge questions, water falls, Indians and more.

Your good friend Marcus Brody hands you the last piece of a very old 3 piece map that shows the location of the Golden Orb. They say the Golden Orb is not of this planet and that it is a navigational key to other inhabited worlds beyond ours. For centuries the Golden Orb has been protected by a pact of secrecy, but recent events have threaten its existence and if it were to fall into the wrong hands .... it could be the end of the world as we know it.

Your quest will take you to the tranquil Golden Harvest Park, where the environment has been woven into your quest, taking you to places you can only imagine of. Expect to spend at least two hours doing the Wherigo, depending how many times you need to redo a challenge. The walking distance is about 1.5Km round trip back to the starting point. Please wear good walking shoes and bring along pen and paper. Please note that the gates to the park close at 18:00 and reopen at 06:00.

At the listed cooridnates, there is ampel shady parking where I suggest you leave your car. Please note that the cache is not hidden at these coordinates, this is simply the starting point of the Quest for the Golden Orb Wherigo game. Visit www.wherigo.com for more details on how to play the game.

The Quest for the Golden Orb Wherigo cartridge can be played on most GPS enabled mobile phones using a downloadable wherigo player / app. Just make sure your GPS accuracy on your smart phone is above average! I did all my testing on a iPad2, iPhone4 and iPhone3GS, please let me know if you have any problems. I have also tested on a Garmin NUVI 500 without any problems. For a rich experience, use a smart phone. The game will lead you to the final cache location, where you will need to find the physical cache and sign the log book before you are able to claim your find. You will also be given a personal "Completion Code", which you can use to log the find on the Wherigo website. www.wherigo.com. The code you need is made up of 15 digits, but the code that generates is 16 digits long. So just drop the last digit and then it should work.

Advice: 1) Use your location screen compass to show you the direction and distance to your new location. 2) At every location check your 'You See' menu to interact with an item and your 'Task' menu to see what needs to be done. 3) Check all 'Tasks' and 'You See' items to make sure you have completed every thing before setting off for the next location. 4) Be patient, the wherigo player is slow to react, so give it time and enjoy the surroundings.
