Geocache Description:

This is our first series, and covers a variety of terrains, with a fair amount of stiles, passing some interesting places, which we have tried to include a bit of history about. The walk is about 8 miles, on a circular route.

Some of the paths can get very, very, very muddy at times, especially in the winter, so good boots are recommended at the very least, but you may want to consider wellies. There are a couple of gentle inclines, but nothing too strenuous, (Stompy hates hills!) and there are a fair few stiles, especially during the 2nd half of the series. At times the walk will follow minor roads/country lanes, but we have tried to limit this, and they are not busy roads. We have tried to make most of the series child friendly.
As there are a few minor roads along the way, a lot of the caches can be driven near too, enabling the walk to be split into a few shorter walks.
This first cache is placed in the village of Barripper. The name Barripper is derived from Normandy French, and means ‘beautiful retreat’.
Parking is available near the cache in the dead end lane, so serves as a good starting point for the walk, but try not to block any entrances. There is a pub in the village that serves food, so you can grab yourselves a well deserved refreshment on completion, and buses run to and from the village.
You are looking for a round canister containing the usual log book, pen and a couple of swaps. Please replace as found.
