CJJP #14 - The Donus Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

OReviewer: As there's been no cache to find for a long time or has had no owner response for at least 30 days, I'm archiving it to keep it from showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

Please note that if geocaches are archived by a reviewer or Geocaching HQ for lack of maintenance, they are not eligible for unarchival.

Geocache Description:

This cache is part of The Central Jersey Jigsaw Puzzle Challenge (GC2NYDC)
Each of these 16 caches contained a jigsaw puzzle piece. Visit each cache, take a piece, and assemble to learn the keyword needed to solve the final puzzle.

There are NO LONGER any puzzle pieces remaining in this cache.

This cache was placed in part to memorialize "The Donus" (GC15GDD) hidden by Losain in the summer of 2007. Originally a devious three stage multi, it was found only 18 times before it was archived in fall 2010.

At one point, The Donus sat unfound for over 100 weeks (705 days) before I finally overcame several DNFs and became last to find in April 2010.

This cache is hidden in the exact location and in the exact same manner as the original Donus final, and contains a logbook and some swag salvaged from the remains of the archived cache. The original was difficult mainly due to the first two micro stages which have not been recreated, so this should be a relatively easy find.

Originally described by Losain:

"Growing up, this area of woods is where the local neighborhood kids went with bikes, dirt bikes, and sleds in the winter. We used to build tracks with jumps and ramps and ride on through the days. We called this area "The Donus". I can’t remember for the life of me why we called it that, but we did. To this day, the area still has most of the trails, holes we dug, and ramp parts, although it has overgrown slightly. This is a little trip down memory lane for me."

Parking can be found at the end of Oak Crest Drive, with the trail entrance being around
