This is dedicated to the novel by H. E. Bates, The Darling Buds of
May which was made into a very popular TV series shown between 1991
and 1993 which launched the acting career of Catherine Zeta-Jones.
Then story has a "feel good" factor about a country family,the
Larkins, Pop, Ma, Mariette, Montgomery, Primrose, the twins, Zinnia
and Petunia, Victoria and Oscar the baby. Cedric (re-named Charlie
by the Larkin family) fell in love with Mariette and gave up his
job as a Tax Inspector to live with the Larkins and eventually
marry Mariette.
"Pop" Larkin is the eccentric and loving father of the family.
He has no regular or set employment but has several projects and a
succession of jobs that provide a source of income for the family.
He frequently invents new things, as well.
