Everything went well on the night and everyone seemed to have good time. Thanks to all who attended, especially those former ACT cachers from interstate who made the effort to be here.

Thanks again to Susan from The S's for all the work on the awards side of things.

Look to doing something again next year.....maybe back to a morning tea type event.

It's ACT caching birthday and awards time again........

2011 will see the ACT's oldest active cache, (visit link) celebrate 10 years since it was listed. And what better way to celebrate this milestone than with a big birthday bash event.

This birthday bash will also be host to the ACT 2010 Caching Awards. Since 2004, The ACT Caching Awards have been arranged and hosted by The S’s. This will be the second year the two celebrations have been combined into the one event. If you have questions or would like more information about the awards themselves, please (visit link)

The details for the bash event are:

When: 6.30pm til late-ish - Saturday 2nd April 2011.

Where: El Dorado Steakhouse Restaurant
5 Badham Street Dickson ACT

I have booked the room at the back of the restaurant and we will have it to ourselves……..on the understanding that we have 100 –110 of us attend. With partners and geo-children who will attend, I have no doubt we will get to that number. So a word of warning, the first 110 to log their 'Will Attend' will be guaranteed a seat, after that I will start a waiting list.

A rough timing guide for the night would be something like this:

6.30pm – Arrive, mingle
6.45pm - Order meals
8.15pm - Lucky door, FTF and raffle prizes drawn
9.00pm – Announcement of the 2010 ACT Caching Awards.

This event represents the chance for the biggest event attendance we've had at an ACT event.......that I'm aware of anyway. It will be a great opportunity for the newer cachers in the ACT to come and meet some of the older heads, and no doubt hear about past caching adventures. So don't be shy, reserve your seat now. Please add this event to your watchlist, as updates will be posted as we approach the actual date.

In your 'Will Attend' log, please indicate how many will be attending in your group.

Numbers are coming in quite well. We are up to 42 will attends with another 9 related to those will attends a possibility.

Plese keep the will attends coming.......

Still need a few more numbers, with final numbers now required by Thursday 31 Mar. If you are thinking of coming and have not logged a 'will attend', please do so by 31 Mar. Walks in will be welcome,but firm numbers would appreciated.

UPDATE 29 MAR 2011
Numbers are almost there. With confirmed numbers and those who have e-mail me with possible attendance, we have 92. Adding the usual walk ins to that and we will reach our required number.
