Recovery Meet in Tower42's Shadow - City of London Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

Simply Paul: No trackables left in this event, and I think everyone who attended the bijou meet has logged their visit so it's time to archive it. Many thanks to all who made it and double thanks to the kind beetstarz who popped something in my pot, so to speak. See you all at some other London event soon I hope [:)]

My official Vertical Rush time was 6:58, putting me in 142nd place of 883 runners, and the 140th man home. Suddenly I have something in common with Max Mosley... [:)] There's more info and pictures via a link on my geocaching.com profile.

Cheers again folks! If I do it again next year I hope they'll let me run it 9 times for the full vertical mile...

Geocache Description:

A meet in the shadow of Tower 42 to help me recover from a little race up the 600ft/183m/42 floor tower. No lifts allowed!

When: Thursday March the 3rd, from 6pm.
Where: Counting House, 50 Cornhill, City of London. EC3V 3PD. A historic pub in the former Prescott’s Bank, which was built in 1893 over the north sleeper wall foundations of a 2,000 year old Roman basilica, no less. (With thanks to Goldpot for the history.)
What: A traditional pub geo-gathering to talk caching talk, swap swappy travel swaps, eat eaty eats and drink drinky drinks.
Who: Cachers from far and wide. Who like pubs.
Why: Because I'm in town to run up the 920 steps and 42 floors of the near-by Tower 42 (once Britain's tallest building) and cache to walk off the pain and will be needing a bit of a sit-down later! Take a look at my profile for more details.
How: Follow your GPS or A-Z to a pub at the above co-ords and address. The nearest tube stations are Bank (0.2 miles - Walk to the right of the Royal Exchange building and after the blue water pump the pub is on your right), Monument (0.2 miles south of the event), Cannon Street (0.3 miles) - Liverpool Street is also close by.
