Enjoy the greenery of Tian Tan and learn some of the amazing history as well.
Tian Tan is a vast park that has many interesting areas to see. The name associated with it is Temple of Heaven, but this is actually a misnomer. Tian means heaven, Tan means alter, so it really should be translated as Alter of Heaven. It is a very popular site for locals and tourists alike, so nobody is going to change the translated name soon, haha.
Another interesting fact about Tian Tan is regarding the Danbi Bridge. This is the elevated walkway between the Hall of Prayer for a Good Harvest, and the Circular Mound Alter where the sacrifices were given during the Border Sacrifice. The Danbi Bridge is 360 meters long and 30 meters wide. There is a special middle stone slab running the entire length and this was reserved only for the Emperor, so we all get to pretend we are the Emperor and walk on the middle stone slab.
This cache is very small and only holds a log, you must bring your own pen. It is hanging around waiting for you.
