Welcome to Penn Golf Club (Founded 1908)
Where City meets Country

Located near Wolverhampton on the border of Staffordshire and West Midlands, golf was first played on Penn Common in 1893, the year after the South Staffordshire Golf Club was formed. Over the years Penn has acquired the freehold of the golf course from the Duke of Sutherland, and problems with the grazing rights have been resolved. Safe to say this means that cattle no longer roam the golf course, and this has enabled Course Manager Paul Mills and his staff to make significant improvements to what was already a fine golf course. Under Paul's guidance we are currently involved in removing non-indigenous flora and fauna, and managing the Common with due regard to it's ecology. Heathers and gorse are now returning to Penn Common, whilst lush fairways now complement the slick greens for which Penn has always been renowned. With the addition of several carefully placed bunkers we now provide as fair a test of a golfer's ability as you will find anywhere in the West Midlands or Staffordshire.

Bordered by the industrialised West Midlands and rural Staffordshire, at Penn Golf Club visitors will discover a challenging heathland golf course set in beautiful, picturesque surroundings. Visitors find it hard to believe that we are located just 2 miles from Wolverhampton City Centre, yet placed in a beautiful rural setting. With easy access to the West Midlands motorway network and Black Country Route. Visitors are sure to find a warm and friendly welcome for friends old and new.
