Missouri Lonely Cache Challenge
There is a container at the posted coordinates, but you may only log your find after completing the challenge below.
What is a "lonely cache" you ask? A lonely cache is simply a cache that hasn't been found in a long time. There are many caches that get found every week. A lonely cache sits around for long periods of time without anyone dropping by to check on it. They don't pump up your numbers, but these caches do create great memories.
Hike a quiet mountain trail, and you'll long remember the crisp air, curious wildlife, and magnificent views. Go places you've never been before on bikes, quads, or kayaks. Strap on climbing gear or snowshoes. Lonely caches are the ones you have to earn.
Watch out, though! Once you find your first lonely cache, you might become addicted. Most other caches will pale in comparison, and geocaching will never be the same.
The Challenge
Accumlate 12 points and then find the final cache.
1. Only caches in Missouri count.
2. Only caches that have not be found for at least 6 months qualify. A cache must have 6 months of "lonely" time. This is not days, but rather months. Feb 8 to Aug 8 is equal to 6 months.
3. "Lonely" time is defined as time between the last found log and your found log. In the case of FTF, it is between the publication date and your found log.
4. Points are easy to track. Give yourself a point for every six month interval that a cache is lonely. 1 year is 2 points; 1.5 years is 3 points, etc.
5. Once you've accumulated 12 points, then you may proceed to the final location.
More Information
1. Generally accepted rules, guidelines and conditions for logging a cache find apply. These must be bona fide caches listed on Geocaching.com that you have personally (physically) found and logged. Finding your own caches does NOT count.
2. You may NOT include caches found prior to April 1, 2011. Revisiting previous finds does NOT count.
3. For obvious reasons, Virtual and Event caches do NOT count.
4. Create a bookmark to track your progress. In your found log on this cache, It would be nice if you include the GC# - Last Found Date - Your Found Date - Points for each of your qualifying caches.
Even More Information
1. Once you have enough points, send me a message and I'll certify your results. Any unauthorized logs will be deleted.
2. If there are multiple finds in a day from DIFFERENT/INDEPENDENT cachers or caching groups on a lonely cache, the credit goes to the individual or team whomever signs the physical log FIRST that day.
3. If when you find a cache, a log appears in the physical cache log but does not have a corresponding Found log online (i.e. They never logged their find on GC.com!), contact me via email for a ruling.
4. Archived caches still out in the world do NOT count.
5. In the unlikely event that there are ever less than 100 lonely caches in Missouri as described above, you may use any of the next 100 caches with the longest time since being found. That's right... there will always be at least 200 to choose from!

Super Special FTF Rule
If you score a First to Find on any cache and then that cache becomes lonely, you get DOUBLE POINTS! That's right... if you're good enough to find something nobody else can then your deserve it. No finds for 6 months after your FTF gets you 2 points, none for 12 months gets you 4, etc. THIS INCLUDES CACHES FOUND MEETING THIS CRITERIA BEFORE THE CACHE WAS PUBLISHED. That is if you are the only finder of a cache and you found it before this challenge existed and STILL nobody has found it to date, it is a double lonely cache.
REMEMBER: For those who accept this challenge, I would encourage you to carry maintenance supplies. Older and less visited caches tend to need more maintenance than others, so it wouldn't hurt to bring a few extra bags/paper in case these older caches need a little TLC.
The terrain rating is about a 3.5 at the final. I added another 1/2 point to account for the unknown terrain for the caches you decide to hunt for.

3 caches over 2.5 years lonely (including 1 FTF)
5 caches over 2 years lonely
41 caches over 1.5 years lonely (including 1 FTF)
69 caches over 1 year lonely (including 3 FTFs)
293 caches over 6 months lonely (including 3 FTFs)
