DE TRAGE WEGEN VAN HOUTEM
Voetwegen, veldwegen, kerkwegels… zijn allemaal benamingen voor de mooie ‘trage wegen’ die op het platteland en in de bebouwde omgeving eeuwenlang zorgden voor de verbindingen van dorp tot dorp, van boerderij tot boerderij, van kerk tot kerk.De voorbije decennia verdween een groot deel van die wegen bij de aanleg van grote infrastructuurwerken en van nieuwe verkavelingen of industrieterreinen.Andere trage wegen werden verhard en vervolgens ingeschakeld in het autowegennet, waardoor ze hun oorspronkelijke functie van trage weg verloren.Deze cachewandeling van ongeveer 6 km gaat over een deel van de wandeling “Trage wegen van houtem”. Startplaats is de kerk van Houtem, waar ook parkeergelegenheid is. Er zijn in totaal 10 microcaches te zoeken , noteer in elke cache de code op het logboek, en deze code leidt uiteindelijk naar 3 bonus caches:

Note: Er is een directe verbindingsweg tussen Bonus en Bonus2 die in de meeste Topokaarten nog niet te zien is. Volg na het vinden van Bonus gewoon de weg en het wijst zichzelf uit.

SLOW ROADS HOUTEM
Foot roads, field roads, church roads ... are all names for the beautiful “slow roads” in the countryside and the small villages, which, for centuries, provided the connections from village to village, from farm to farm, from church to church. Many of these roads disappeared in recent decades due to the construction of major infrastructure and new housing estates or industrial sites. Other roads were paved and then slowly turned into the road network, thus losing their original function of slow road. This cache tour of about 6km is part of the walk "Trage Wegen Houtem”. Starting point is the church of Houtem, where there is parking space. A total of 10 micro caches are hidden along the route, in each cache there is a code written in the log, and all these codes eventually lead to 3 bonus caches:

Note: There is a new track connecting Bonus and Bonus2 which cannot be found in most Topomaps. After finding the Bonus just follow the path and it will sort itself out.
