A 46-acre park located on the east shore of Loon Lake, this park is completely wooded and has an abundance of natural flora and fawna.
During a survey of the park area in 1975 by the Minnesota Historical Society it was revealed that this area was inhabited during the woodland cultural period, which dates back to 200 B.C.
Because of this it is felt that this park area is one of the most important archeological sites in Jackson County, and in 1980 it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
The gates are usually closed during the off-season winter months, if they are it's a little less than a 1/2 mile walk. Cache is small in size and camouflaged, containing a log, pencil, and unique cash prize for the first to find :)
