Geocache Description:

Eleventh in a series of 16 caches between Edgeworth and Bisley. The full series involves an 8 mile walk which may be muddy in places.

Continue up the lane to the wells which are the starting point for GC125K8 Bisley Giant Stones multi cache which you can follow in conjunction with this series. Then climb the steps to the left of the wells.

Cache is a magnetic 35mm film container.

In the churchyard above is a 12th Century monument covering a well. Tradition relates that one dark night, the priest was called to a dying parishioner but never reached him and his body was found down the well. As a result, Bisley was excommunicated and bodies had to be carried 18 miles to Bibury for burial.
The monument has niches for candles and donations for the poor were also left there.

Congratulations Electric Sparrow for First to find!
