Nothing remains of the old Zonita cinema, which closed in the 1950s when the building became Roses department store and in the 1980s a snooker hall and complex of small shops known as Roses Walk, on the right as you looked at it was a 1960s supermarket, where the small shops and flats are now and behind it car parks and to the left a large petrol station, where you can now see the supermarket and service area.
Everything, except the remains of the brewery which has grade listed protection, was levelled in 2005/2006 to make way for the large supermarket, small shops and flats that are on the site today.
If you want to continue your walk, go to the top of the hill and there you will find a footpath on the right, that will lead you into Ampthill Park
