Geocache Description:

PLEASE BE AWARE - At present it is not possible to cross the Boardwalk between nos 1 and 2 so at present this is NOT a circular walk. Please see main description for amendment. The walk is just over 3 miles long in New Hall Valley Country Park, also on surrounding public footpaths. There is a mix of Nano, Micro and Boxes (for swaps). Please remember to take a pen along. You are looking for a Clip Top Box.

Parking is available at New Hall Country Car Park N52 32 844 W001 48 585. AMENDMENT: If you are thinking of doing the whole series a bit of 'back tracking' will be necessary. You will need to cross the bridge and follow the path towards WWW3 and either miss out WWW2 and continue to WWW5 or 'back track' to WWW2. As soon as the Boardwalk is repaired will revise these instructions. This is No 1 in a series of 10 caches placed in New Hall Valley Country Park and surrounding public footpaths. The route will take you across Wylde Green Road at two points and a short distance across Walmley Golf Course where care will be needed with small children. It is easy walking but can be muddy in parts so boots are recommended. Within the park there are two play areas for children between No 3 Wylde Walmley Wander and No 4. New Hall Valley Country Park is a country park located in New Hall Valley between Walmley and Wylde Green in the Sutton Coldfield area to the north of Birmingham. It is the first new country park in the UK for over a decade. It was created in 2005 by Birmingham City Council with funding raised from the release of land for the New Hall Manor Estate development and formally opened on 29 August 2005. The park covers over 160 acres of designated green belt land to the south east of Sutton park, including ancient woodland, historic wetland, grazing meadows, former farmland and part of Plants Brook. It borders on a number of privately owned listed buildings including the 17th century Grade 11 listed New Hall Mill a corn mill. This is one of only two water mills surviving in Birmingham. It has been restored and is open to the public on certain days or by prior arrangement. The park is crossed by Wylde Green Road, which links Walmley and Wylde Green at either end. This road was crossed by a ford until around 1967. In addition there are 3 caches which can be collected more or less on route if you wish. GC4JXPT can be picked up after WWW3 and GC5MCOC between WWW and WWW6. Also GC71XZQ after no WWW10.
