10 YEARS OF GEOCACHING IN SOUTH AFRICA Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

CapeDoc: I like the sentiment behind this cache and the mega FTF was fun, but not one of my best. Also a bit off the path, so archive to keep TMNP happy.

Geocache Description:

A CACHE CELEBRATING 10 YEARS OF CACHING IN SOUTH AFRICA!

This cache has been place to commemorate 10 years of Geocaching in South Africa. It overlooks the site of "Sentinel View", the oldest surviving active cache in the country.

The first cache in the country was called "GCZA01" and placed by GPSFrodo on 14 January 2001. It was found only once, by Jors.

Sentinel view was placed 4 days later on 18 January 2001.

To quote from the first ever log by Jors:

"Lets keep this fun thing going!!"
