Geocache Description:

DO NOT RUSH OUT TO THIS CACHE – READ ON

Pyramids have always provided challenges. Thousands of years ago it was to the Egyptians and other cultures that build them. How did they move so many heavy stone blocks to create them. How did they make them so geometrically perfect? The Great Pyramid of Giza is the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and the only one to remain largely intact today.

More recently, the challenge has been to discover their secrets. Many contain passages and chambers. The Great Pyramid of Giza has both upwards and downwards passages, and three chambers - The Kings, the Queens, and a third one that is unfinished. It like many others are believed to be tombs for Pharohs.

Now we have a new Pyramid Challenge – a geocaching challenge!

The pyramid below has ten layers. Each layer represents a year from 2010 at the base, working up to 2001 at the very top.
Before you can go and find this cache you must have found caches (in any order) to complete your pyramid.
- For the base layer (2010) you must have found 10 caches – each placed in a different month of 2010
- For the second layer (2009) you must have found 9 caches – each placed in a different month of 2009
- This continues until the tenth (top) layer when you must have found one cache placed in any month of 2001

There are a few other guidelines/rules that must be followed
1. Caches can be any type, provided they were live on www.geocaching.com on 1st January 2011. They may be temporarily disabled, but must NOT have been archived.
2. You can not count any of your own caches, nor should ‘placed on’ dates be artificially changed for this challenge.
3. You may count some of your historic cache finds providing they meet rules 1 and 2 above, but at least 50% (that’s 28 of the 55 required finds) must be new finds on or after 1st January 2011.
4. Have fun!

When you claim your find, please list your 55 caches in anyway you wish. This could be in your find log (may need a note or two) or as a bookmark list. Please include cache names, GC codes, date placed and date of your find.

The cache is a regular sandwich box container in a camo-bag hideen at the above co-ordinates. This was a “Secret Santa” present we received this Christmas. It contains a special FTF prize for the first to complete the challenge. When at the cache location, please watch our for muggles on foot, horseback and motorbike, and ensure the cache is well hidden before you leave.
