Geocache Description:

This used to be part of our Pearls of Wisdom series, so I am keeping the "pearl of wisdom" here - "I like talking to a brick wall; I find it is the only thing that never contradicts me" Oscar Wilde

The church of All Saints, Wimbish dates from Norman times and is built of stone. It has no tower, as the original was struck by lightning in 1740 and the subsequent brick built tower was demolished in 1883 as it was declared unsafe. It is possible to see where the tower once stood by the mismatched brickwork on the west end wall of the church. The chancel was built in 1868. Some of the bells from the demolished tower are kept inside the church and another is in the churchyard. There is a car park at the church.
