Geocache Description:

For a viewpoint unlike any other in Niagara Falls, come take a stroll over the Rainbow Bridge. This cache will require you to walk to the middle of the Rainbow Bridge to acquire some information needed to locate the final cache, located in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada.

Where I work allows me to see the splendor of Niagara Falls almost every day, and I kinda take this natural wonder for granted. I can literally look out my window at work and see the falls any time I want, whereas some people will travel thousands of miles at great expense just to catch a glimpse of the beauty and awe-inspiring power of one of the most recognizable natural features in the world. So I decided after living here for so many years, I would finally walk out on this pedestrian walkway to get a renewed appreciation for the area, and came up with a cache idea at the same time.

Please note, for reasons that should be very obvious: There is NO CONTAINER ON THE BRIDGE so please do not bother to search for one while you're out there. Also, please DO NOT attempt to exit your vehicle if you're stuck on the bridge since doing so is rather likely to cause you quite a bit of grief with the border patrol.

To find this cache, you will need to gather information from pre-existing items near the middle of the bridge that will help you solve for the final co-ordinates located at N43° 05.ABC W079° 04.DEF.

A = Last digit of the first year mentioned on the "Fraternity" plaque that talks about Canada and U.S.A.

B = The 4th digit of the unit number of the coin-op binoculars closest to U.S. soil. (located near the bottom of the operating instructions)

C = The first digit of the unit number of the coin-operated binoculars closest to Canada, multiplied by 2.

D = The last digit of the unit number of the middle coin-operated binoculars.

E = 2nd digit of the Zip Code on the binoculars minus the 5th number of the Zip Code.

F = Using the middle coin-op binoculars, take the two-digit "Dial" number for "Skylon Tower" and call that "XY". Subtract "Y" from "X".

Walking on the bridge will cost you fifty cents per person (quarters only, at an automated turnstile) and you will be required to pass through Canadian Customs on your way back to the cache. It is your sole responsibility to ensure that all individuals in your group have all proper travel documents required for entry into Canada (passport, enhanced driver's license, etc).

You are encouraged to post pictures of your caching group from the bridge, but please avoid any spoilers in your pictures and logs.

Have fun!
