Geocache Description:

Time for another CacheWalker bash. It was in Spring we had our last one, where did Summer go! All are welcome for either the pre-Event walk or the Event itself or both.

09:30 meet for 09:45 depart - CacheWalker Group Walk
Before the Event we will be meeting at the pub car park for a walk of about 4 miles. I’m still planning this; there will be some new caches to find, so keep watching.

Please bring spare shoes/boots as we don't want to take any mud, etc in to the pub as I know part of the route could be very muddy!

Update 23 Dec. 10 – The walk has a lot of snow on it currently, which in parts can make it quite arduous. I will keep an eye on this but if the snow stays, you do need to have very good footware.

For those staying for the Event and want food, I need to check if they want us to pre-order our food or not, I'll let you know. – Update 23 Dec. 10 – no need to pre-order food but I still need to know who wants to eat so I can let the pub know numbers.

12:00 to 3:00pm The Event - The Red Lion, Long Compton, Nr Shipston on Stour, Warwickshire CV36 5JS
Hopefully we will have got back from the walk by noon. If you're not walking and we’ve not got back, then on arrival at the pub please let them know that you are here for the Geocaching Event and you will be directed to the correct place, or you might just get a blank look!

Food at the Event
The Red Lion do a Sunday beef roast as well as other hot meals. Have a look at their web site at The Red Lion menus, this will give you an idea what they do and prices. Please note they also have an under 12’s menu as well.

If you want to eat, PLEASE let me know how many adults and how many children there will be and if it’s Sunday lunch you want or other in your “Will Attend” log so I can give the pub an idea of numbers, thank you.

Caches
As is traditional, new caches will be released for the Event (if the weather lets me get out of the door!); there will be details for those going on the walk as well as at the Event. There are not many caches close to Long Compton, hence why I choose here to correct this issue but you might want to visit the Rollright Stones not far away at N51 58.548 W001 34.216, there is parking there for a few cars.

Other Stuff
Coin & TB swapping and spotting as usual, plus I'll have the FTF draw.

CacheWalker
OK, OK, I know, you newbies are wondering what the heck CacheWalker is, right? Well, we're just a group of local (Glos, Worcs, Warwicks mainly) cachers who enjoy walking, and we have a forum to chat about caching and walks. We sometimes get together to go out caching too. Caching groups seem to be more popular in America than here but since we all enjoy walking to caches more than most, it seemed sensible to share walks, routes, caches etc.

Disclaimer: Please remember that walking can be a dangerous activity and all walks are undertaken entirely at your own risk. It is each walker's responsibility to ensure that the walk and the weather conditions are within their capabilities. CacheWalker, its managers and members accept no liability for any injuries, loss or damage that occur during the walk or at the Event.
