Välkomna till en riktig geocachar-kickoff! Vi vet att många drar
ner på cachandet under årets mörka, kalla och snöiga månader. Nu är
det dags att ladda batterierna och damma av GPSen igen för nu drar
vi igång årets säsong på allvar.
Preliminärt schema:
- kl 09.30: Vi finns på plats vid startkoordinaterna i
Kungsträdgården. Översiktskartor över dagens cacher kommer delas
ut. Tänk på att anmäla dig till eventet så vi vet hur många
papperskopior vi behöver.
- kl 10.00: c:a 40 cacher inom Stockholms tullar publiceras. Det
blir en blandad kompott med traditionals, mysteries, wherigo-cacher och en eller annan
multi. Cacherna ligger utspridda i innerstadens alla hörn.
- kl 16.00: Återsamling och gemensam korvgrillning vid
amfiteatern i Rålambshovsparken (se koordinat nedan). Det finns en
stor grill vid parkleken precis bredvid. Vi ordnar kol, ta med egen
korv, dryck och tillbehör, samt något att sitta på.
Att tänka på:
- Många av cacherna som kommer släppas på eventet ligger på
utsatta ställen, och vi misstänker att det kommer bli ganska många
besök på dom under eventdagen. Tänk på att aktivera stealth-mode
när du loggar!
- Om det kommer en annan cachare medan du står med cachen i
handen, glöm inte att visa/förklara exakt var och hur den
skall återplaceras innan du lämnar platsen.
- Glöm inte att ta med penna.
- Eventloggbok kommer finnas med både på morgonen och
eftermiddagen.
- All TB-verksamhet sköter vi vid grillningen i Rålis. Det kommer
inte finnas något TB-bord på morgonen.
- I din anmälan, skriv gärna hur många ni tror att ni kommer vara
i sällskapet (så vi vet om vi måste försöka skaffa mer
grillkapacitet).
- Stockholms hyrcyklar kommer att placeras ut den 1 april, man
kan skaffa tredagarskort eller säsongskort (200kr). Cykel är ett
utmärkt sätt att ta sig runt mellan dagens nya cacher. Glöm inte
hjälm!
- Ett annat bra sätt att transportera sig i stan är med buss och
tunnelbana. SLs 24h-biljett kostar 100kr (60kr reducerat pris). Se
karta
över innerstan.
- Det finns gratis wherigo-spelare till både iPhone,
Android
och Symbian/S60.
Garmin Oregon har spelare inbyggd.
Vi kommer att publicera en länk till en GPX-fil med alla
cacherna på morgonen. Ta gärna med dig en smartphone eller laptop
med uppkoppling så att du kan ladda ner den och tanka in den i din
GPS själv. Vi kommer nog inte att kunna tillhandahålla
överföringsmöjligheter till just DIN gps. Översiktskartan kommer
endast att innehålla cache-namn, koordinater och hint till de
traddar som släpps i samband med eventet.
In english: Winter in Sweden is cold, dark and covered with
snow, and many geocachers go into hiding until the sun and warm
weather returns. We thought it would be a nice idea to arrange a
spring kick off to start the season (not that the event hosts would
hesitate to go for a cache because of some snow :-) ).
Preliminary program:
- kl 09.30: Event hosts will be at the start coordinates in
Kungsträdgården. Overview maps of the todays caches will be
distributed. Please log "will attend" so we know how many maps we
need to print.
- kl 10.00: ~40 caches in central Stockholm will be published.
There will be both traditionals, mystery caches, wherigo-caches and one or two multi
caches.
- kl 16.00: We meet again for a barbequeue in Rålambshovsparken
(see additional coordinate below). There is a big outdoor grill
just around the corner. We will bring coal, you bring something to
grill (preferably sausages). Don't forget something to drink and
something to sit on.
Additional info:
- Many of the new caches will be in exposed locations and we
suspect that there will be quite alot of activity during the day.
Please activate your stealth mode while logging!
- If another cacher arrives while you have the container in your
hand, don't forget to show/explain exactly where and how to
replace the cache before you leave the location.
- Don't forget to bring a pen.
- The event logbook will be available both in the morning and
afternoon.
- All TB-swapping will be taken care of during the BBQ in
Rålambshovsparken. There will be no organized TB-activity in the
morning.
- When you log "will attend", please note how big your party is
so we know if we have to arrange more BBQ capacity.
- Stockholm has public rental bikes. You can get either a 3 day
card or a card that is valid for the whole season (200SEK). Bike
will be an excellent way to move around town during the event day.
Don't forget your helmet (required by law under 15 years, common
among adults in Stockholm).
- .
- Another means of transport is by bus or tube. A 24h ticket is
100SEK (60SEK for youth and 65+)). See public
transport map of Stockholm City .
- There are free wherigo-clients for both iPhone,
Android
and Symbian/S60.
Garmin Oregon has a client built in.
We will publish a GPX file with all caches in the morning. If
possible bring a smart phone or some other way to access internet
(but remember that dataroaming rates are usually ridiculously high)
so you can copy this gpx-file to your GPSr. The overview map will
contain cache-names, coordinates and hints for the traditionals
that are published at the event.
