Historie Kostela Sv. Frantiska Xaverskeho zacina v roce 1657, kdy na miste zpustle tvrze zalozila hrabenka Frantiska Slavatova puvodni maly kostelik. Posvecen byl o dva roky pozdeji. Plany podal Matej Vels a stavbu provedli Ondrej Radler a mistr Michael Seemayer, stavitel. Kaple svatohorské Panny Marie, sv. Ignace a vez byly pristaveny az v roce 1669. Roku 1732 dal Petr Jan Schmidt, superior v Oparanech, sesly kostelik zborit a vystavel podle planu architekta Kiliana Ignace Dientzenhofera nynejsi kostel. Do roku 1735 postavili jezuite nynejsi nadherny chram, ktery je zcela podobny chramu svateho Klimenta v Praze. Vnitrek chramu je bohaty a krasny jako vsechny jezuitske stavby. Vez byla dostavena v roce 1748. Od kostela byva pekny vyhled na okolni, mirne zvlnenou krajinu smerem k Bechyni (cca 12 km odsud). Za pekneho pocasi jsou videt kourici veze Temelina :-). Pobliz kostela se nachazi znama detska psychiatricka lecebna.
UPOZORNENI: Pote, co puvodni krabicku zmacel dest, jsem ji vymenil za jinou a vlozil do ni provizorni logbook. Prilezitostne ho vymenim za klasicky sesitek a krabicku nahradim tou se systemem lock-lock. Bude opratrena Geocahing nalepkou a poucenim pro nahodneho nalezce.
Nekterym kacerum vadi, ze krabicku chrani igelitovy obal od praciho prasku, ale jiste je to lepsi nez potrhane cerne igelitky, ktere vypadaji jako by vypadly odnekud z popelnice :-)
History of the Church of St. Francis Xavier begins in 1657 when on the place of the desolated citadel Countess Franz Slavatova built original small church. It was consecrated two years later. Plans filed Matthew Vels and construction made Ondrej Radler and Michael Seemayer, builder. Chapel of Our Lady of Svatá Hora, Saint Ignatius and tower were added in 1669. In 1732 Peter Jan Schmidt, Superior in Oparany, demolished run-down church and built the present church according to plans from architect Kilian Ignac Dientzenhofer. By 1735 the Jesuits built the present magnificent church, which is quite similar to the Church of St. Clement in Prague. Inside the temple is a rich and beautiful like all Jesuit constructions. The tower was completed in 1748. From the church is a nice view of the surrounding countryside towards to Bechyne (distance 12 km). If visibility is good, you can see the smoking towers of Temelin power plant :-). Near the church is the well known children psychiatric hospital. In summer, we recommend to stop in the bistro "Na Tahu," which offers sitting in the garden, and five kinds of beer (December 2010). Some people are upset that the cache is packed in the plastic sack from washing powder, but I think this is better than classic black sacks which looks like from trash bin :-).
