Smutné místo, které je soucástí naší historie si
zaslouží cache. Parcík, ve kterém se pomník nachází navazuje
na mestský hrbitov.
Nemocní ruští zajatci byli posíláni do tábora pro nemocné,
který byl umísten v býval. kasárnách, stávali na sídlišti
Vítezná. Podmínky v tábore byly velmi špatné, zdravot. péce
minimální, úmrtnost byla z techto duvodu znacne vysoká. Mrtví byli
pohrbíváni do masových hrobu nedaleko mestského hrbitova. Do dubna
1945 jich bylo pohrbeno 2202, další byli pohrbenu
ješte v kvetnu, takže celkový pocet není presne znám..
Místo, kde byli mrtví pochováni, bylo nejdríve oznaceno brezovými
