THIS IS OUR FARM - YOU REALLY CAN PARK HERE - HONEST This cache is the beginning or end to a series of 9 traditional caches. If you visit in December/early January you will be able to see the farm lit up for Christmas and the grotto. The cache is on private land but it is our land and the farm is open to the public for free. All visitors (even non-cachers!) are always welcome. There are lots of dogs here so be prepared for some noise to greet you!!!
This cache is one of 9 set around this area initially with a Christmas theme. The caches are stocked with Christmassy swaps to begin with. The walk takes between one and a half and two and a half hours depending on how quickly you walk and how quickly you find them - they are all quite easy though. We suggest you go anti-clockwise to avoid the long uphill stretch. Suggested route- The Holly and the.. >> An Arboreal Marriage >> Hollow Bottom >> Pricke Patch >> Knobbly Bottom >> Devil's Throne (Almost) >> Hedgerow Hide >> Stumpy >> Hammerfield Feel free to park at Hammerfield Farm N51°00.289 W000°47.982 where the largest of the 9 caches is placed. The caches are hidden on bridleways, paths and minor lanes. Traffic tends to be light though. The bridleways can be muddy, bumpy and rather holey. Parking is available near(ish) to all of the caches if you want to do them quickly. See individual entries. The route can be cycled non-stop in about 20 minutes but there are two inclines.
