Millers Mills Bridge Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

jeepcacher82: Well, this cache is indeed missing, which is a bummer. I'm archiving it as I don't have another nano to put in its place. I will try to come up with a replacement and put a new cache here. Thanks to those that came and found this and I apologize to the few that stopped out but weren't able to find it.

Geocache Description:

Nano on the shores of Little Unadilla Lake.

Take a minute to read the plaque about the bridge dedicated in memory of Henry B. Huxtable. I remember when they rebuilt the bridge in 1992, they drained Little Unadilla Lake. My brother and I would come down here and throw rocks into the stinky mud.

This area will likely be full of muggles the third Sunday in July during the Millers Mills Ice Cream Social and the second Sunday in February during the Ice Harvest. Both are great events for such a small community. Any other time you stop by, you'll find some peace and quiet in this little country setting. If you walk up the road a little bit, you'll see the town sign that lists the population.

You're looking for a nano cache. Stealth may be required if the neighbors are out. In a tiny town, everyone is always keeping an eye out for suspicious activities.

This is a great spot for taking pictures, especially in the fall when the geese are migrating. Just watch out overhead. We were almost hit by some "geese bombs" as they were taking off over head. This place is also beautiful in the summer. My brother and I would go down the hill beyond the waterfall and catch crayfish in the stream. Please watch the little ones near the edge of the bridge!! You don't need to go onto any private property to get this cache. The neighbors are very friendly, but please be cautious of their property. Although there's nothing to say you can't cache here at night, I'd prefer if you only visited during the day so you don't bother the neighbors.

Please feel free to share your pictures. As I grew up here, I'd like to see others enjoying this little piece of country life.

Congrats to Tundra Wolf for the FTF!!!
